A resource established the "Attorney General's Pro Bono Co-ordinating Committee" in May 2002, at the request of pro bono legal groups, to help facilitate pro bono co-ordination. The membership includes all the main pro bono providers (both public and private bodies), the Law Society and the Bar Council. The Committee is an initiative of the pro bono providers, not that of Government, to raise the profile of, and encourage more and better-targeted participation in, pro bono legal work.
