After the Debt Management Plan is set will I receive be able to get any additional help and advice?
Once you commence ongoing debt advising we will try to ensure that you remain with the same debt adviser.
This means you do not have to start again or tell your story all over again to another person. Working with the same adviser enables the building of a relationship based on shared meaning, understanding and trust. This “working alliance' is the basis of effective debt advising
In some instances this may not be possible e.g. at times of staff sickness; if your adviser is a locum adviser who is only working at periods of high demand; if your adviser is on a term-time only contract and you need debt advising outside of regular opening times. In these situations we will try to ensure that any disruption is minimised.
You can use the debt advising services for as long as you need, as long as you are registered with the service. This could range from one session per year if necessary.
The debt advice service offers an opportunity to talk about things going on in your life, including matters you might find painful or hard to cope with on your own. Our advisers will listen in a non-judgmental way and help you to focus on issues more clearly. They guarantee to respect your beliefs, lifestyle and culture. Debt advice can help you to make your own decisions, so that you feel stronger and more in control of your life.
