We receive a lot of calls and emails from the public asking; "I run a business. What will happen to my business in an IVA?".
If you run a business and are suffering from debt problems you can certainly apply for an IVA for either the personal debts of the business owners or the business debts. PLEASE NOTE – You cannot place limited company debts into an IVA.
The business will not be affected if you do an IVA as long as the business can survive and generate a regular income. A business will remain unaffected by the IVA as long as it is generating enough revenue to pay it running costs, pay salaries and have enough funds left over to pay make the IVA payment.
Business orientated IVAs are more detailed than normal PAYE or employed IVAs because the creditors need assuring that the business will survive the course of the IVA and provide enough funds so that the monthly voluntary contributions can be made.
